Dbljump (“we”, “our”) is an organization whose mission is to build the world's best video game knowledge reference, with the help of a worldwide community of contributors (the “community"). We invite you (“you”, the “user”) to freely access our content and to join Dbljump as a registered user.
1 Our services
Our role in creating and sharing the Dbljump video game reference is to:
- provide tools that enable the community to author and edit content; and
- host the content and make it accessible
You are legally responsible for your actions, including the contributions you make, on Dbljump websites and services. Please avoid contributing content that could result in criminal or civil liability. This includes international laws applicable to you and laws local to where you live.
2 Quality of content
Our aim is that all the content on Dbljump must be factually correct and neutral in tone. However, we host a wide variety of content, which is created by your fellow users, and you might find some of it erroneous or objectionable. You should use our services only as a source of general information.
3 Prohibited activities
Dbljump cannot carry out its mission without you and your fellow users and contributors. We ask you to be civil with other members of the community, to act in good faith, and to make helpful contributions.
We ask you not to engage in activities that might be harmful to other users, violate our rules, or subject you to legal liability. These activities include:
- Harassing or abusing others
- Violating the privacy of others
- Making false statements, or engaging in impersonation or fraud
- Infringing on copyright, trademarks, patents or other proprietary rights
- Posting pornography or obscene material
- Misusing our services for illegal purposes
- Making commercially-motivated content contributions, such as linking to your own website or a web page you were paid to link to
4 User account security
You are responsible for safeguarding your account password. Do not disclose it to any third party. We recommend setting a unique password containing mixed-case letters, numbers, and special characters.
5 Privacy policy
Please read our privacy policy, which explains how we collect and use your information. By accepting these terms and using our services, you also accept the terms of our privacy policy.
6 Third-party websites and resources
You are solely responsible for your use of any third-party websites or resources hyperlinked to by Dbljump content.
7 Trademarks
It is important that we protect our trademarks so that we can protect our users from fraudulent impersonators. Please respect our trademarks. All Dbljump trademarks, including our trade names, trademarks, symbols and domain names, belong to Dbljump.
8 Licensing of content
By contributing content to Dbljump, you agree to grant broad permissions to the general public to re-distribute and re-use your contributions freely, so long as that use is properly attributed and any derivative works grant the same permissions to re-use and re-distribute.
- Text you hold the copyright for: is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. You agree to be credited, through hyperlink or URL, to the article you contributed to or a stable online copy.
- Contributing non-text media: When you contribute non-text media that you own, such as images, you agree to license it under a Creative Commons license. You agree to comply with the terms of the licenses you select.
- Importing text: If you import text that requires attribution, you must credit the author(s) in a reasonable fashion. Dbljump provides tools for referencing source materials.
- Importing non-text media: You will only upload media published under a Creative Commons license, or where a “fair use” copyright exemption applies, or where the media item is in the public domain. You agree to attribute the copyright holder and label the work appropriately as being in the public domain or as “fair use”.
- No revocation of license: Except as consistent with your license, you agree that you will not unilaterally revoke or seek invalidation of any license that you have granted under these terms of use, even if you stop using our services.
9 DMCA compliance
It is our policy to respond to notices of copyright infringement that comply with the formalities of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Pursuant to the DMCA, we will terminate the user accounts of repeat infringers. If you are the owner of content that is being improperly used on Dbljump, you may email a removal request under the DMCA to legal (at) dbljump.com.
Where you think a DMCA notice has been improperly filed, we encourage you to file a counter-notification.
10 Management of community
In cases where a user behaves in a way that is problematic for the community or Dbljump's mission, we reserve the right to:
- Investigate the user's use of our services to determine whether there has been a violation of these terms, or applicable laws or legal requirements
- Address resulting security or technical issues
- Block the user from contributing to or editing Dbljump content, or revoke access to their account
- Take legal action against the user
- Manage our websites and services in a manner designed to facilitate their proper functioning and to protect the rights, property and safety of ourselves, users, licensors, partners and the public
Where a user has had their account blocked under this provision, they are prohibited from creating or using another account unless we provide explicit permission.
11 Termination
You can stop using our services at any time.
In the event that your account is blocked or terminated for any reason, your public contributions may remain publicly available.
In certain circumstances it might be necessary for us to terminate our services, or these terms of use. We reserve the right to suspend or end our services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
12 Changes to these terms
The text of these terms is based on the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use. We may change these terms from time to time, in response to community feedback or for legal or administrative reasons.
